ShareRoo Terms and Conditions (T&C's)

Effective Date: April 26, 2026

introduction

Welcome to ShareRoo, an online platform that enables individuals and businesses to share eligible items through rental arrangements. By using ShareRoo, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. These terms apply to all users of the platform, including Owners and Renters.

These Terms and Conditions form a legally binding agreement between ShareRoo and its users from the time registration is confirmed and for so long as the user continues to use the platform. Users must meet ShareRoo's eligibility criteria, including any minimum age, residency, and payment method requirements specified by ShareRoo.

ShareRoo may amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Continued use of the platform after any amendment constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms and Conditions. If a user does not agree with any amendment, they must stop using the platform and may terminate their account, subject to any outstanding obligations.

Account Registration, Termination, and Suspension

ShareRoo enables registered users to list and rent eligible movable items as Owners and Renters. ShareRoo acts solely as an intermediary platform and is not a party to the rental agreement entered into between an Owner and a Renter.

Identity verification features may be built into the platform. However, Owners remain responsible for taking reasonable steps to satisfy themselves as to the identity and suitability of any Renter before handing over an item. Use of the rental process requires a valid payment method and may be available to individuals and authorised representatives of legal entities.

ShareRoo may, with consent where required, promote certain Owners, items, or listings. ShareRoo is under no obligation to provide promotion to any user or listing. Each user acts independently, and nothing in these Terms creates any partnership, employment, agency, or joint venture relationship.

Registration Requirements

Users must:

  • provide accurate, current, and complete personal information
  • meet ShareRoo's minimum age requirement
  • maintain a valid payment method where required
  • keep account information secure and up to date

Termination and Suspension

ShareRoo may suspend, restrict, or terminate an account where there is:

  • a breach of these Terms
  • misuse of the platform
  • suspected fraud
  • unresolved disputes
  • unsafe conduct
  • prohibited activity

Users may terminate their account at any time, but any outstanding obligations, including unpaid amounts, ongoing disputes, claims, or investigations, must first be resolved or remain enforceable after account closure.

Owner Agreement

By listing an item on the ShareRoo platform, the Owner agrees to the following:

Ownership and Authority

The Owner confirms that they own the item or otherwise have full authority to list it for rent.

Accuracy of Listing

The Owner must provide accurate descriptions, photos, usage instructions, declared values, and any safety information relevant to the item.

Condition and Maintenance

The Owner is responsible for ensuring that listed items:

  • are in good working order
  • are safe and suitable for rental
  • comply with applicable laws and safety requirements
  • are properly maintained

ShareRoo Protection

Eligible rentals may include ShareRoo Protection in accordance with the ShareRoo Protection Policy. ShareRoo Protection is not insurance and does not guarantee reimbursement, repair, replacement, or recovery.

ShareRoo Protection may include:

  • temporary card holds applied to the Renter's payment method
  • risk-based controls and eligibility rules
  • discretionary support for eligible claims

Any support provided under ShareRoo Protection is:

  • conditional
  • capped
  • discretionary
  • subject to platform rules, evidence requirements, exclusions, and the ShareRoo Protection Policy

To preserve eligibility for any claim, Owners must comply with applicable requirements, including:

  • accurate listing information
  • timely reporting
  • before-and-after evidence
  • cooperation with any review or investigation

Payments and Disputes

ShareRoo may process payments on the Owner's behalf. In the event of damage, loss, theft, late return, or other dispute, the matter will be handled in accordance with these Terms, the ShareRoo Protection Policy, and any relevant platform procedures.

Code of Conduct

Owners must:

  • treat Renters respectfully
  • respond to booking requests and messages in a timely manner
  • honour confirmed bookings unless cancellation is permitted under platform rules
  • not misrepresent the item or its condition

rental agreement

The rental agreement is formed directly between the Owner and the Renter. ShareRoo is not a party to that agreement and does not assume liability for any breach, default, or failure by either party to perform their obligations.

Owners must accurately describe listed items and have the legal right to rent them. A rental agreement is formed when the Owner accepts the Renter's request or when the platform otherwise confirms the booking in accordance with its processes.

Renters are responsible for:

  • using the item lawfully and for its intended purpose
  • following any provided instructions
  • returning the item at the agreed time and location
  • returning the item in substantially the same condition, allowing for fair wear and tear

Disputes regarding the item, its condition, late return, or any rental-related issue must be raised promptly through the platform in accordance with the applicable dispute window and process.

ShareRoo does not manage private deposits agreed outside the platform unless expressly stated otherwise. Users are also responsible for their own tax obligations and compliance with applicable laws.

Return Process:

  • Items must be returned at the agreed time and location.
  • Owners should inspect returned items as soon as reasonably possible.
  • Owners must report any issue within the dispute window set out in the ShareRoo Protection Policy or platform rules.

Refunds:

Refunds are not automatically available once a rental is confirmed. Refunds may only be granted in circumstances permitted by these Terms, the cancellation rules, or where a dispute is resolved in favour of the Renter.

Late Returns:

Where an item is returned late, ShareRoo may charge the Renter additional rental amounts, fees, and other applicable charges in accordance with platform rules. Any owner payout may be adjusted by ShareRoo fees and any applicable protection charges.

user published content

Users may publish content on the ShareRoo platform, including item listings, reviews, ratings, comments, and messages, subject to these Terms.

Ownership and Licence

Users retain ownership of their content but grant ShareRoo a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, host, display, reproduce, distribute, and adapt that content in connection with operating, improving, promoting, and protecting the platform.

Content Standards

Users must not publish content that is:

  • false, misleading, or deceptive
  • unlawful
  • defamatory, abusive, threatening, or offensive
  • infringing of another person's rights
  • harmful to the integrity, security, or reputation of the platform

User Responsibility

Users are solely responsible for the content they submit and must ensure it complies with applicable law and ShareRoo policies.

Moderation

ShareRoo may review, remove, restrict, or edit content that breaches these Terms or platform policies.

pricing and payment

ShareRoo facilitates the collection and distribution of amounts payable in connection with rentals. The total amount payable by the Renter may include:

  • rental fees
  • service fees
  • ShareRoo Protection fees
  • temporary card hold amounts
  • any other fees or charges disclosed at checkout

ShareRoo may deduct its fees and charges before remitting any net amount to the Owner. ShareRoo may delay or adjust payment where there is:

  • an active dispute
  • a claim
  • suspected fraud
  • chargeback risk
  • any other compliance or risk issue

Rental Fees

Owners set the rental price for their items, subject to platform formatting, pricing logic, and any applicable controls.

ShareRoo Protection Fee

Where applicable, the platform may charge a ShareRoo Protection fee. This fee does not purchase insurance and does not create any entitlement to guaranteed payment. It contributes to the operation of the ShareRoo Protection framework, including risk controls and discretionary support for eligible claims.

Temporary Card Hold

ShareRoo may place a temporary card hold on the Renter's payment method in connection with a booking. The purpose of the hold is to support recovery in the event of damage, loss, theft, late return, or other eligible issue. ShareRoo may release, reduce, retain, or capture the hold in accordance with these Terms, the ShareRoo Protection Policy, and the outcome of any review.

Payments:

  • Renters may be charged at the time specified by ShareRoo during the booking flow.
  • Payments are processed through ShareRoo's payment providers.
  • Users must maintain valid and chargeable payment methods.

Cancellation Fees

Cancellation rights and any cancellation fees are governed by ShareRoo's cancellation rules and any booking-specific terms shown at the time of booking.

dispute resolution

Owners and Renters should first try to resolve issues directly and respectfully through the ShareRoo platform. ShareRoo may, but is not obliged to, assist with communication, evidence review, or dispute management.

Where ShareRoo becomes involved, users must cooperate fully and provide any reasonably requested information, including:

  • photos
  • messages
  • timelines
  • receipts
  • police reports
  • other supporting evidence

Item Damage, Loss, or Theft:

Renters remain primarily liable for damage, loss, or theft occurring during the rental period, subject to these Terms and any applicable exclusions. Where an eligible claim is made, ShareRoo may apply the renter's temporary card hold and may, in its discretion, provide support under the ShareRoo Protection Policy.

ShareRoo Protection is:

  • not insurance
  • not a guarantee of reimbursement
  • subject to eligibility, evidence, exclusions, caps, and platform rules

Late Return:

Late return charges may be applied to the Renter in accordance with platform rules. ShareRoo may facilitate collection and payout of those amounts, less applicable fees.

Stolen Items:

Owners must report suspected theft, misappropriation, or unlawful retention to police where required by the ShareRoo Protection Policy or platform rules. ShareRoo may request a police report before considering any claim or support request.

Mediation:

ShareRoo may assist in reviewing evidence and facilitating a resolution, but does not guarantee any outcome and is not liable for the result of any dispute between users.

limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShareRoo excludes all liability for any loss, damage, cost, or expense arising out of or in connection with:

  • the conduct of Owners or Renters
  • the condition, suitability, legality, or performance of listed items
  • any rental agreement between users
  • injury, damage, or loss arising from the use or misuse of an item
  • delays, technical failures, outages, data loss, or system interruptions
  • user content or item misrepresentation
  • indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential loss, including loss of profit, revenue, opportunity, or data

ShareRoo provides the platform on an "as is" and "as available" basis and does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or successful transactions.

Nothing in these Terms excludes any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.

prohibited use and activities

Users must not:

  • violate any law or regulation
  • list prohibited, dangerous, illegal, or restricted items
  • misrepresent items, users, or transactions
  • use bots, scripts, scraping tools, or other automated methods to misuse the platform
  • engage in fraud, theft, harassment, abuse, or unsafe conduct
  • attempt to circumvent ShareRoo fees, protections, or platform processes
  • interfere with the security or operation of the platform

Any breach may result in suspension, termination, reporting to authorities, legal action, or financial recovery measures.

user obligation

All users must:

  • comply with applicable laws
  • act honestly, respectfully, and responsibly
  • keep account information current
  • protect login credentials
  • use items only as intended and lawfully
  • return items on time and in the required condition
  • cooperate in any dispute, claim, or review process
  • provide accurate information and evidence when requested

Failure to meet these obligations may result in:

  • suspension or termination
  • financial liability
  • loss of eligibility for ShareRoo Protection support
  • legal action where appropriate

intellectual property rights

All platform content, including logos, branding, text, software, design, graphics, and features, is owned by or licensed to ShareRoo and is protected by intellectual property laws. Users must not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, exploit, or use ShareRoo materials except as permitted by law or with ShareRoo's prior written consent.

Privacy Agreement and User Data

ShareRoo collects, uses, stores, and discloses personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy. Users consent to ShareRoo handling their personal information for the purposes of operating the platform, processing transactions, managing disputes and claims, preventing fraud, and complying with legal obligations.

ShareRoo does not sell personal information to third parties.
